I am more aware and voice things very differently thanks to my PLP learning. I cannot
begin to tell you how much I have grown from it. My Director saw an immediate
difference and has given me the ok to complete all 3 years and I am super excited
and looking forward to year two!
Kimberly Imboden - Human Resources Manager, City of Benicia: I did not know what to expect going
into it, but got SOOO much out of it. It is not a “technical based” program where you are told laws, best
practices, etc.. It is truly a deep within experience where you can work on your leadership, what is important
to you as a leader. I don’t really know how to describeit other than I can’t wait to go back. I know schedules,
and budgets, are tight, but if you are able to make this one work, I don’t think you will be glad you did.

I have a lot of “been there, done that” feelings when it comes to leadership training; I was looking for something that
offered more than metaphors and a status quo view of what it takes for a leader to be successful in today’s civic
environment. I certainly found it with the Pacific Leadership Program!
The facilitators, particularly Stacey and Juan, bring a genuine caring about the individual’s needs. Both are skilled in
creatinga custom experience for each person, even in a group setting. The immersive in-residence training creates
enduring networks and builds a community that lasts long after the week ends. I experienced immediate learning
outcomes as well as significant Ah-ha moments in the months that followed because of the experiential methods they use.
The impact of the training in my work setting has given me greater confidence and clarity in my decision-making and allowed me to
better recognize and appreciate my knowledge, skills, and the direct impact I have in the organization. Professionally and personally
the positive changes I have experienced are being noticed by my colleagues and family – and we are all the better for it!
